Burning Man Inspired Wedding, San Francisco, CA
When you can't go to Burning Man (thanks, Covid), you gotta bring Burning Man to you! J & D bonded over a love of Burning Man, and if they had their way, they would have tied the knot at Black Rock City. Of course, life had something different planned, so instead they honored that connection by bringing the playa to the redwoods! The clubhouse at the legendary Stern Grove served as the perfect place for their eclectic group of family, friends, artists, and performers to gather and celebrate. While the bride's family was unable to fly in from Ireland, she and her sister still got to see the rest of the family virtually for some much needed wedding day congratulations.
With art installations like Bryan Argabrite's Sparkle Pony and a not-so-strict dress code, including studded belts, sunglasses, and even some feather boas, the stage was perfectly set for this Burning Man inspired wedding. The couple included interactive elements to their redwood-shrouded ceremony by passing their rings around for their guests to bless and offering an open mic for anyone to share their heartfelt wishes. In the Burner tradition, most of the decorative elements were lovingly DIY'd by the bride herself.
The reception kicked off with food trucks and a guest-run, open bar, but the fun really began once the drag and burlesque performers arrived. As soon as host Carnie Asada took the stage, the party truly started. With each performance being more jaw-dropping than the last, the couple and their guests experienced a show they wouldn't soon forget. Warning: there is definitely some nudity to follow, so if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, you may not want to scroll too far down....
